For this client Michael came up with a way to make arches out of straight beams. "I wanted the look of real hand hewed beams and corbels without the weight. So we decided to fabricate box beams out of 1x8 pine, distress them and add a textural compound to mimic hand hewed markings." To finish it off Michael faux finished the beams and corbels to look old and oxidized. The steel straps were then fauxed to go with the surrounding copper elements.
